Germany-Tajikistan Forum

A Tajik delegation consisting of heads of relevant ministries and departments of Tajikistan, as well as heads of commercial and state banks headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Davlatali Said, took part in intergovernmental negotiations and a business forum of Tajikistan and Germany on November 21-25. Official meetings were held on the German side in the cities of Berlin and Hamburg.

During a productive and eventful visit, the parties discussed issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation and strengthening intergovernmental ties in the banking sector. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan held meetings with the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection (BMWK), the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Germany (BMAS).

A round table was organized for representatives of the banking sector of the country, where the Association of German Banks was the host. The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Mr. Khokim Kholikzoda, familiarized the audience with the achievements of the banking sector of Tajikistan.

The Chairman of CJSC Bank "Arvand" - Ms. Sodikova Shoira Muzaffarovna was part of the delegation. The special significance of this trip was given by the fact that CJSC Bank Arvand is the only bank in the country whose shareholders include representatives of Germany, namely the German company Access Microfinance Holding AG, which, represented by Katarina Schachtner and Thomas Engelhard, also took part in the bilateral meeting. Other partners of the bank were also present at the meeting. These are Dr. Andriy Fettsun, Founder and Executive Director of Agents for Impact GmbH and Mr. Zigitas Bubnis, Deputy Director of the consulting company AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants GmbH.

At the end of the round table with the Association of German Banks, the heads and representatives of Tajik banks held individual meetings with prestigious and large German banks, where they discussed the possibilities of expanding interbank cooperation.

In general, the trip promises to be effective. Meetings at such a high level will certainly bring their benefits and benefits for the benefit of the development of both countries.
