The International Financial Forum “ESG as a factor of sustainable development” was held in the capital of the country.

The next forum of the Association of Financial Institutions of Tajikistan (AFOT), dedicated to the topic of ESG, was held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dushanbe.
The opening of the forum was led by the Chairman of the Board of Arvand Bank CJSC Sodiqova Shoira Muzaffarovna Shoira Sodiqova, who also spoke as a speaker at the plenary session on the topic “Investing today in a sustainable tomorrow.” An important aspect of the discussion was the ESG principles, which denote environmental, social and corporate factors that are becoming key to investment decisions in the modern world. ESG not only defines the approach to sustainable development, but also affects the reputation of companies and their long-term financial sustainability. Also, Development Director Ikromi Shakhnoz spoke at the panel discussions as part of the delegation from Arvand Bank, where she spoke about the significant “green” projects that are being implemented at the Bank and their impact on the sector.
Sodiqova Shoira Muzaffarovna also holds the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFOT, emphasizing her active role in promoting the principles of sustainable development in the country’s financial sector. Arvand Bank attaches great importance to the integration of ESG principles into its strategy, which reflects its commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. In the face of global challenges related to climate change and social changes, Arvand Bank is actively developing projects aimed at sustainable investing and supporting environmental initiatives.
The forum brought together leading international experts, investors and representatives of financial organizations, becoming a platform for exchanging experiences and finding solutions to facilitate the integration of ESG into the practice of the financial sector.
For the entire period of activity of Arvand Bank, AFOT has always been and remains a reliable partner and catalyst in the implementation of projects aimed at supporting the economic development of the country. Almost from the very foundation, Arvand and AFOT began their business relationship, in which the association’s task was mainly to lobby the interests of the nascent microfinance sector before the regulator and develop the sector itself, since traditional banks did not cooperate with the target audience in those days. It was thanks to AFOT that it became possible to attract resources and implement projects that were difficult for financial institutions to implement at that time.
