Biography:

Ignacio Mas-Ribo holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and an SB in Mathematics and Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He is a renowned international expert in digital financial services, mobile money, and financial inclusion, with extensive experience in leading global organizations:

  • Investment and Governance: Since March 2023, he has served as a Non-Executive Director at Gojo & Company. Previously, he was the Deputy Director of Financial Services for the Poor at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and a Senior Advisor at CGAP (World Bank).
  • Academic and Educational Leadership: Founder and Executive Director of the Digital Frontiers Institute (Barcelona), where he develops professional development programs for the fintech industry. He is a Senior Fellow at the Fletcher School at Tufts University and at the Saïd Business School, Oxford University.
  • Corporate and Consulting Experience: Held executive positions at Vodafone Group (Director of Strategy and Innovation) and worked at the World Bank (IBRD/IFC) . As an independent consultant, he has advised financial institutions and governments in over 15 countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Mexico, Haiti, and others .

He is the author of numerous publications and research articles on mobile money, digital banking regulation, and financial access strategies .

He is bilingual in English and Spanish and fluent in French and Catalan.
