Biography:
Giorgi Kvirikashvili graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) with a Master of Science in Finance. He also holds degrees from Tbilisi State University in Economics (with Honors) and Medicine.
He possesses an outstanding track record in top government positions and the financial sector:
Government Service: Served as the Prime Minister of Georgia (2015–2018), Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development . Under his leadership, Georgia achieved significant progress in international rankings, signed the Association Agreement with the EU, and secured visa-free travel to the Schengen Area .
International Consulting: Acts as an international advisor for the EBRD and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He specializes in developing fintech roadmaps for the CAREC region and advising governments (Uzbekistan, Jordan) on establishing Foreign Investors Councils .
Banking Sector: Has extensive leadership experience in banking, including serving as the CEO of Cartu Bank and in various executive roles across multiple commercial banks in Georgia.
He holds key governance positions:
- Independent Director on the Supervisory Board of MDO Humo (Tajikistan), serving on the Strategic Development, Risk, and Audit Committees .
- Chairman of the Supervisory Board of OnePrice Georgia JSC.
