20 years of history, high performance and a course to strengthen ESG principles Arvand Bank sums up

28.01.2023

The year 2022 has passed quickly and richly, and it is not surprising. In the past year, events of incredible significance and scale took place in the life of Arvand Bank. Important meetings, the signing of significant agreements, historical achievements, difficult decisions and many interesting things accompanied the Bank throughout the year.

Naturally, the most grandiose event, or rather, a series of related events, was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of CJSC Bank Arvand! Almost every event, every new product and social events were timed to the anniversary of the Bank.

We will not talk about everything that happened (we often covered these events during the past year), but it can be unequivocally stated that the Bank celebrated the significant date on a large scale. This includes a short film, forums, promotions and, of course, the publication of the book "Arvand: 20 years of development!", which received a lot of positive feedback, and most importantly, its content was formed by those who were somehow involved in the formation and development of the Bank "Arvand".

Towards the end of the year, as a co-organizer, we held the largest conference in the city of Dushanbe, inviting eminent foreign guests and the local business establishment.

Our first championship at the tournament among credit organizations in football was included in the treasury of historical achievements. Yes! Our cherished dream came true, and our employees brought the long-awaited cup and the title of champions to the walls of Arvand Bank. By the way, it turned out to be an amazing anniversary gift.

A little bit about the numbers

In 2022, Arvand Bank, as predicted, showed significant growth in key performance indicators: a loan portfolio of 767.2 million somoni (an increase of 25%), a deposit portfolio of 152.9 million somoni (an increase of 32%) and the volume of money transfers amounted to 3.1 billion somoni, showing a 133% increase compared to 2021- m year. And the number of active customers is more than 127 thousand people.

The number of users of the mobile application "Arvand" has increased 2.5 times, who have completed transactions totaling 1.05 billion somoni.

Notable innovations were observed during the past year. Perhaps one of the main "novelties" of the year are the cash-in/cash-out terminals of Arvand Bank. Currently, they are installed in 9 branches across the country, but soon they will be installed in every banking service center.

With the help of these terminals, it is already possible to pay for various services, including banking. The main feature of these terminals is the cashing of money directly from the account of the Arvand electronic wallet, without any payment card.

Also, the Digital Office project was launched and its pilot launch is already in full swing, after which a full-fledged implementation into the customer service system of Arvand Bank will take place. This will allow customers not to stand in queues to the operators to repay a loan or receive a money transfer and will significantly save them time.

Of course, this is a huge step towards digitalization of processes within the framework of the strategy of promoting remote customer service and strengthening the culture of self-service.

In 2023, Arvand Bank will continue its strategy of digitalization of processes and customer service with the help of modern technological solutions.

Along with this, the Bank will strengthen compliance with the ESG principles.

What is ESG?

In a broad sense, this is the sustainable development of commercial activity, which is based on the following principles:

-responsible attitude to the environment (English, E - environment);

-high social responsibility (English, S - social);

-high quality of corporate governance (English, G - governance).

Environmental principles determine how much an organization cares about the environment and how it tries to reduce the damage caused to the environment.

Social principles show the attitude of an organization towards staff, suppliers, customers, partners and consumers. In order to meet the standards, the Bank continues to work on the quality of working conditions, monitor gender balance or invest in social projects.

Management principles affect the quality of management: transparency of reporting, management salaries, a healthy environment in offices, relations with shareholders, anti-corruption measures.

Why is it so important to comply with ESG principles? Firstly, Arvand Bank positions itself as a socially responsible participant in the country's banking system and the principles laid down in the sustainable development of ESG completely coincide with the Vision and Mission of Arvand Bank.

And secondly, the Bank is a financial intermediary, and compliance with the principles by one market player will necessarily have a positive impact on others: on customers, partners, competitors – thereby becoming a frigate that moves everyone along the river of economic development.

In general, 2023 promises to be eventful and eventful. Follow our news and updates on social networks and the official website.
